1 North Road is known locally as the old Wyong Grove Public School site, which ceased operating in 2013. The NSW Government school operated from 1981–2013 and amalgamated with Wyong Public School in response to changing enrolment demands and community needs. In September 2015, the Education Department confirmed the site was “approved for disposal and will be sold competitively on the open market, managed by Government Property NSW” (Daily Telegraph, 25th September 2015).
In line with public sentiment for the site to remain a school serving the Wyong community, use of the land was secured by Wyong Christian Community School (WCCS) as the location of a new, purpose-built Infants school campus for Kindergarten to Year 2, and additional education facilities including a pre-school offering 60 places and a much needed local School for Specific Purposes (SSP) to focus on formative learning in Years 1 and 2.
WCCS is excited about continuing the tradition of previous educators on this site. In fact, the Project Manager and WCCS Property Manager, Ryan Harris, attended Wyong Grove Public School from Kindergarten to Year 4 in the 90s! Ryan describes this project as a "full circle" moment and is committed to seeing children thrive in the new environment.

Just as it holds fond memories for Ryan, the site is special to many locals who either had children attending the school or who attended the school themselves. WCCS continues the site's educational heritage and invites locals to share memories and memorabilia of Wyong Grove Public School. The school plans to welcome visitors to tour the new facilities when they open in 2027.
