Principal's Message - Week 9, Term 3
Hebrews 12:28 reads, ‘Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.’ As we come to the end of another term, there is much to be thankful for. This week we are farewelling our graduating Year 12 class. It will be wonderful to celebrate their achievements with our community. It is not a small undertaking to complete the requirements of the Higher School Certificate, and it is a great joy that we can honour their efforts on Thursday at their Graduation Ceremony.
We are also thankful for God’s provision of new facilities and resources. When you return from the holiday break you will see our two new classrooms and administration block that will be in place. They have been constructed offsite for a number of months and will be delivered and installed over the next two weeks. This will help facilitate the growth and demand for enrolment places that we have been experiencing for a number of years.
In that vein, we are thankful for our new Kindergarten cohort. Last week we held our second Kindy Starters days in preparation for next year. For the first time in the history of the school we will have five Kindergarten classes commencing next year. Hence, the need for additional classrooms.
We also appreciate God’s provision of new learning enrichment rooms that have now been operational for several weeks. This week will also see the completion of the refurbished toilet facilities in the Secondary School.
We are also thankful that over the break our three new slippery slides will be installed. They will provide a fun way for our Junior School students to transition from the verandahs down to the playground. Some of our staff, when seeing the images of the planned installation, were also keen to be having a go – they certainly look fun!
Next term I am also hoping to provide further updates on our North Road Campus project. We are thankful that planning is going ahead and hope to be able to provide the community with some visual concepts of what is in store soon.
We truly have much to be thankful for. Our God is doing wonderful things at our school. At the same time, the words of Jesus in Luke 12:48 are very much part of our thinking; “From everyone who has been given much, much will be expected; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” I would love you to join with me and be praying that we are wise stewards with the blessings God is providing, that we would remain committed to the vision and mission of the school, and remember that all we do is for Jesus' sake and God’s glory.
God bless,
